Sound Recordings

I have been experimenting with recording from multiple sound sources at the same time.

Mixing and collarging from multiple sources, peronal archive tapes and mini disc recordings, radio, records and other sound. I recorded while moving between these sound souces, a live mixe.

ELECTRO MAGNETIC RECORDINGS

In the University Buildings and in Plymouth Town centre. I have made sound scapes while I walked from sound source to sound source in shops and around buildings.

I intend to layer some of these on Audacity to create sound scapes that move across time in an archaeological/strata like pattern. Old and new juxstaposed in a new sound mashup.

I very much liked the way Anslem Kiefer talks about some of his work decribing laying paintings on top of each other creating a geology of the self. Layers of experience and expression
